Investment Objective
The Fund seeks to maximise total return. The Fund invests at least 70% of its total assets in the equity securities (e.g. shares) of companies domiciled in, or in the main business of which is in, the People's Republic of China (PRC) in the industries and supply chain of new energy, carbon neutral, green energy, energy conservation and emission reduction themes. The Fund's total assets will be invested in accordance with its Environmental, Social and Governance ("ESG") Policy as disclosed in the prospectus. For further details please refer to the ESG policy and the Benchmark sections of the prospectus and the BlackRock website at https://www.blackrock.com/baselinescreens The Fund will have a flexible allocation between onshore and offshore Chinese equity markets. The Fund may invest in the Chinese equity markets through the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect. In order to achieve its investment objective and policy, the Fund will invest in a variety of investment strategies and instruments. In particular, the Fund will use quantitative (i.e. mathematical or statistical) models in order to achieve a systematic (i.e. rule based) approach to stock selection. This means that stocks will be selected based on their expected contribution to portfolio returns when risk and transaction cost forecasts are taken into account. The Fund may obtain limited exposure (through, including but not limited to, Financial Derivative Instruments("FDIs") (i.e. investments the prices of which are based on one or more underlying assets) and units in collective investment schemes) to securities which may not satisfy these ESG criteria. The Fund is actively managed, and the Investment Adviser (IA) has discretion to select the Fund's investments.
