Investment Objective
Objectives and investment policy The Sub-Fund invests in equity and equity related securities (including, but not limited to, ADR, convertible bonds, equity linked notes, low exercise price warrants and warrants on equities); these investments shall be represented by direct or indirect investments (including but not limited to CFDs) in securities listed in eligible stock exchanges or traded on Regulated Markets of North America and Europe. The Sub-Fund will adopt a long/short strategy according to which long positions will be represented, directly or indirectly by use of derivatives such as CFDs futures and options, by investments in equity securities, and the short positions will be represented exclusively by derivative instruments (through the use of CFDs, futures or options) to obtain synthetic purchase or short sale positions. In particular, the use of options on indices will notably have the aim to reduce the correlation to the market and the volatility of the portfolio. Investment decisions for the selection of long and short positions are based on screening models and fundamental research. The performed fundamental analysis defines the companies that could be invested both long and short. The companies, both long and short, weight in the portfolio on the basis of the realized historical volatility and the investment are constantly monitored and adjusted on the basis of the suggestions of the proprietary trading models. The Sub-Fund can be exposed to Investment Grade debt securities and Non-Investment Grade debt securities (issued by corporate or government or supranational entity), money market instruments or assimilated instruments, rated at least B-/B3 by one or more of the main rating agencies. The Sub-Fund will not invest in Distressed Securities or Defaulted Securities.
