Investment Objective
Objectives, Process and Policies Objective To achieve a return in excess of US short duration bond markets by investing primarily in US investment grade debt securities, including asset- backed and mortgage-backed securities. Investment Process Investment Approach Uses a globally integrated research driven investment process that focuses on analysing fundamental, quantitative and technical factors across countries, sectors and issuers. Focuses on bottom-up security selection through a value-oriented approach that seeks to identify inefficiently priced securities to generate returns. Invests across all sectors of USD denominated investment grade short-term debt which includes government, government related, corporate, and securitised debt. Share Class Benchmark Bloomberg US Government/Credit 1-3 Year Index (Total Return Gross) Benchmark uses and resemblance Performance comparison. The Sub-Fund is actively managed. The majority of issuers in the Sub-Fund are likely to be represented in the benchmark because the Investment Manager uses it as a basis for portfolio construction, but has some discretion to deviate from its composition and risk characteristics within indicative risk parameters. The Sub-Fund will resemble the composition and risk characteristics of its benchmark; however, the Investment Manager's discretion may result in performance that differs from the benchmark. Main investment exposure At least 75% of assets invested in short-term investment grade debt securities issued by US issuers. The Sub-Fund may also invest in USD-denominated short-term investment grade debt securities issued by issuers outside of the US. Debt securities may be issued or guaranteed by governments and their agencies or may be issued by companies. The Sub-Fund is expected to invest between 25% and 50% of its assets in mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and/or asset-backed securities (ABS).
