Investment Objective
Investment Objective The aim of the sub-fund ("Fund") is to outperform the return of the relevant risk-free interest rate with a low correlation to equity market fluctuations. Investment Policy The Fund seeks opportunities in global equity markets arising from inefficiencies both within individual markets and across markets by utilising equity hedging strategies. The Fund will invest in equity and equity related securities using (but not limited to) the following strategies: Special-situations strategies, merger/risk hedging strategies and equity hedging strategies with low volatility/risk.The Investment Manager implements the strategy by taking long positions in equities (either directly or via derivatives) and/or by taking long or short positions via derivatives. In addition, the sub-fund may, under certain circumstances, hold or redeploy up to 49% of its net assets in (i) deposits (max. 20%), government debt securities and money market instruments, (ii) corporate debt securities with an investment grade rating and/or (iii) securities issued or guaranteed by a member state, its local authorities, a third country or a public international body belonging to one or more member states.Through the link between the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges (Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect), the Fund can invest directly in Chinese A shares. In addition, investments in Chinese B and H shares can be built up.The Fund is actively managed with reference to the HFRI-I Liquid Alternative UCITS Event Driven Index as it uses the Benchmark in the appropriate currency for performance comparison purposes. However, the Benchmark is not used to define the portfolio composition of the Fund or as a performance target, and the Fund may be wholly invested in securities which are not constituents of the Benchmark. The currency risk from investments in assets denominated in a currency other than the base currency can be fully or partially hedged. The Fund may use derivatives for the purposes of
