Investment Objective
The Fund aims to provide a combination of capital growth and income to deliver a return that is higher than the hard currency emerging market bond market over any three-year period, while applying ESG Criteria. Core investment: at least 80% of the Fund is invested, typically directly, in bonds issued by governments and government-related institutions in emerging markets. These bonds are denominated in the currencies of developed countries such as the US dollar, euro, yen and sterling. The Fund invests in securities that meet the ESG Criteria, applying an Exclusionary Approach as described in the precontractual annex. Other investments: the Fund may invest in bonds issued by emerging market companies or bonds issued in emerging market currencies, including Chinese bonds denominated in renminbi. The Fund may also invest up to 10% in distressed debt and defaulted debt securities, in other funds, and up to 20% in cash (meaning eligible deposits) and assets that can be turned quickly into cash. Derivatives usage: for investment purposes and to reduce risks and costs. Within this framework, the investment manager's approach involves forming a view on the economic outlook, identifying countries with solid fundamentals and evaluating the quality of individual bonds. This disciplined, multi-pronged approach provides the basis for the Fund's asset allocation, country and currency weighting, as well as selection of bonds. • Investment manager's ESG classification: Planet+ / ESG Enhanced, as defined in the Fund's Prospectus. • SFDR category: Article 8 Benchmark: J.P.
