Investment Objective
To achieve long-term capital growth. Investments: The Sub-Fund is a financial product that promotes ESG characteristics pursuant to Article 8 of the Disclosure Regulation.The Sub-Fund invests at least 67% of assets in equities and equity-linked instruments of companies that are headquartered, or do substantial business, in emerging countries in Africa, America, Asia and Europe. Investments in Chinese equities can be made either through authorised markets in Hong Kong or through the Stock Connect. The Sub-Fund may also invest in P-Notes for the purpose of efficient portfolio management,. The Sub-Fund's total investment exposure to China A shares and B Shares (combined) will be less than 30% of net assets. The Sub-Fund may invest in China via the R-QFII licence system. There are no currency constraints on these investments. [br]The Sub-Fund may use derivatives for hedging and efficient portfolio management. Benchmark: The Sub-Fund is actively managed and seeks to outperform the MSCI Emerging Markets NR Close Index. The Sub-Fund is mainly exposed to the issuers of the benchmark, however, the management of the Sub-Fund is discretionary, and will invest in issuers not included in the benchmark. The Sub-Fund monitors risk exposure in relation to the benchmark however the extent of deviation from the Benchmark is expected to be material. The Benchmark is a broad market index, which does not assess or include constituents according to environmental characteristics, and therefore is not aligned with the environmental characteristics promoted by the Sub-Fund. Management Process: The investment team actively manages the Sub-Fund's portfolio by combining top-down and bottom-up strategies: geographical allocation, sector allocation within each country and equity selection based on growth potential and valuation. The Sub-Fund seeks to achieve an ESG score of its portfolio greater than that of the Benchmark.
