Investment Objective
INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The aim is for your investment to reflect the performance, before fees and expenses, of the S&P 500 Equal Weight Index (index) which is designed to measure the performance of the companies in the S&P 500 Index with each company in the index being allocated a fixed weight of 0.20%, while seeking to minimise foreign currency fluctuations at share class level. DESCRIPTION OF INDEX: The index contains shares of large public companies traded on certain eligible US exchanges. The shares comprising the S&P 500 Index are weighted according to the total market value of their outstanding shares (capitalisation weighted). INDEX REBALANCING, CALCULATION AND ADMINISTRATION: The index is calculated on a total return net basis which means that all dividends and distributions by the companies are reinvested in the shares after tax. The index is reviewed and rebalanced on a quarterly basis, to coincide with the readjustments of the S&P 500 Index, and may also be rebalanced at other times in order to reflect corporate activity such as mergers and acquisitions. INVESTMENT POLICY: To achieve the aim, the fund will i) attempt to replicate the index, before fees and expenses, by buying all or a substantial number of the securities in the index and ii) enter into financial contracts (derivatives) which attempt to reduce the effect of exchange rate fluctuations between the currency of the fund's assets and the currency of your shares. The fund may employ techniques and instruments in order to manage risk, reduce costs and improve results. These techniques and instruments may include the use of derivatives. The fund may also engage in secured lending of its investments to certain eligible third parties to generate additional income to offset the costs of the fund.
