Investment Objective
The Share Class is a share class of a Fund which aims to achieve a return on your investment through a combination of capital growth and income on the Fund's assets, which reflects the return of the MSCI World High Dividend Yield Advanced Select Index, the Fund's benchmark index (Index). The Share Class, via the Fund is passively managed, and aims to invest so far as possible and practicable in the equity securities (e.g. shares) that make up the Index. The Index aims to reflect the performance of a sub-set of equity securities within the MSCI World Index (Parent Index) and applies an optimisation process which seeks to target exposure to companies with higher dividend yield and quality characteristics whilst also seeking to achieve a carbon reduction and environmental, social and governance (ESG) score improvement relative to the Parent Index. Issuers may be excluded if they are involved in controversial, conventional and nuclear weapons, civilian firearms, tobacco, thermal coal, oil sands and classified as violating the United Nations Global Compact principles. The Index also excludes companies based on their involvement in very severe ESG related controversies. The Fund may obtain limited exposure to securities considered not to satisfy these ESG criteria. The Parent Index measures the performance of large and mid capitalisation stocks across developed countries which comply with MSCI's size, liquidity and free-float criteria. Companies are included in the Parent Index based on the portion of their shares in issue that are available for purchase by international investors. The Fund adopts a binding and significant ESG optimisation approach to sustainable investing i.e. the Fund will integrate ESG information into investment processes to optimise exposure to issuers to achieve a higher ESG rating compared to the Parent Index.
