Investment Objective
The Share Class is a share class of a Fund which aims to provide investors with a total return, taking into account both capital and income returns, which reflects the return of the MSCI USA Advanced Selection Index, the Fund's benchmark index ("Index"). The Share Class, via the Fund, is passively managed and aims to invest in equity securities (e.g. shares) that, so far as possible and practicable, make up the Index. The Index measures the performance of a sub-set of equity securities within the MSCI USA Index (Parent Index) which are issued by large and mid-capitalisation companies within the United States with higher ESG performance than other sector peers within the Parent Index, and excludes issuers from the Parent Index based on the index provider's exclusionary and rating based criteria. Companies involved in certain business lines/ activities are excluded, as outlined in the Fund's Prospectus. The remaining companies are rated by the index provider based on their ability to manage their ESG risks and opportunities and are given a MSCI ESG rating ("MSCI ESG Rating") which determines their eligibility for inclusion. Companies which are identified by MSCI as being involved in controversies that have an ESG impact on their operations and/or products and services are excluded based on an MSCI ESG controversy score ("MSCI ESG Controversy Score"). The Index targets 50% cumulative coverage of the free float adjusted market capitalisation of each Global Industry Classification Standard ("GICS") sector within the Parent Index ("Target Representation"). Companies are ranked and selected for sector inclusion based on criteria such as MSCI ESG Rating, current index membership, industry-adjusted ESG scores, and market capitalisation, to meet the Target Representation. The Index seeks to include companies contributing positively to the environment or society, or those with carbon emissions reduction targets(s) approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
